PS3 Blu-Ray Movie update set for October

During its IFA 2010 press event in Berlin, Sony announced that the system software update which will turn the PlayStation 3 into a Blu-Ray 3D movie compatible player will go live in October (it was expected to be released this month).

The company’s president and CEO Howard Stringer himself broke the news from the stage, also noting that the European Imaging and Sound Association calls Sony’s 3D TVs the best on the market (in the LCD category actually, and more specifically referring to the 3D Bravia KDL-52HX900).
