The Plastic Demoscene Group has published a cool video showing off an experimental feature of the upcoming Move/3D-compatible PSN game Datura which allows to use a second Move for 1:1 camera control.
As you can see in the video embedded below, the second Move has been attached to Sony’s HMZ-T1 Personal 3D Viewer resulting in the ability to operate the camera via headtracking.
Interestingly, according to the video description, it appears that such functionality was added after Sony request not just to improve the immersion, but also “so everyone could get a glimpse of what future gaming would look like”.
Is Sony perhaps testing the waters with regards to a dedicated 3D personal viewer (with built-in headtracking functionality) for PlayStation 4?
Datura will release on the PlayStation Store next week. Expect my video analysis around that time.
